The Conference will be held in Guimarães, Portugal from July 8th to 12th, 2014.
Sessions will take place close to the historic city centre of Guimarães.
The city of Guimarães
Guimarães is located in the north-western part of Portugal, 40 minutes away from Porto international airport. It is, nowadays, with a population of about 60 000 habitants, one of the most important historical cities in the country having been declared World Heritage Site in 2001 by UNESCO. Its many monuments and precious historical centre are associated with the past where the city played a major role in Portuguese history as the cradle of the nation.
Guimarães was designated the European Cultural Capital of 2012 and was elected by the New York Times as one of the top destinations to visit in 2011. Guimarães is 40 minutes away from Porto and both cities are listed in the top ten World destinations for Lonely Planet Guide in 2012. Porto is also a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is world famous by being home to Port wine cellars.
The conference facilities are excellent and accommodation can be found at very reasonable prices for all categories. The city is also renowned for its food, popular traditions and handcrafts.
